Dr. Elaina Sutley is an associate professor in structural engineering and associate dean for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging at the University of Kansas. She received her PhD from Colorado State University in 2015; she is a licensed professional engineer in Kansas and a LEED Accredited Professional for Homes. Dr. Sutley’s research expertise lies at the intersection of humans, disasters, and the built environment. She specializes in sustainability and resilience of residential buildings and post-disaster housing recovery.
