Fulvio Tonon currently directs his rock mechanics laboratory, applied photogrammetry to the characterization of rock masses, consults in rock engineering and underground excavations, and directs the On-line Certificate in Tunneling at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he is an adjunct faculty member. He has two decades of professional experience in the Americas, Europe, and Africa. For 10 years, he served as a faculty member at the University of Utah (Geological Engineering) and University of Texas at Austin (Civil Engineering); he co-authored 3 books, and published 64 papers in peer-reviewed journals and 48 papers in conference proceedings. He has served as Chair of the ASCE Rock Mechanics Committee for 8 years.
