J. Paul Rinehimer is senior engineering staff with WEST Consultants with over 15 years of experience in computational hydraulics, sediment transport, and water resources engineering. He specializes in multidimensional modeling with experience in 2-D water quality, flooding, and inlet stability studies and 3-D modeling of estuarine hydrodynamics and sediment transport. He has applied HEC-RAS-2D for flood and dam break inundation studies and within the Corps Water Management System (CWMS). Dr. Rinehimer has published papers on cohesive sediment transport in estuaries, tidal flat hydrodynamics, and Infrared remote sensing of surface currents. In addition to teaching HEC-RAS courses nationwide, he has taught university-level courses in Fluid Mechanics and Open Channel Flow. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington.
