James Heyen is a project manager and senior hydraulic engineer with WEST Consultants with over 20 years of experience in water resources and hydraulic engineering. His areas of technical expertise include 1D- and 2D- hydraulic analysis and scour potential assessments, floodplain analysis, and levee certification. Mr. Heyen earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona, and his M.S. in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Engineering) from Oregon State University. He has been a regular instructor of HEC-RAS courses and has provided hands-on training in hydraulic and hydrologic engineering for more than 500 students in more than fifteen years of teaching.
