Jennifer C. Laning has over 19 years of experience specializing in bridge inspection and project management. She is currently the Bridge Inspection Practice Leader at Pennoni Associates, responsible for project management and quality management for all bridge and underwater inspection projects throughout the organization. She has inspected more than 1,000 bridges in her career and has managed the inspections of more than 2,500 bridges. Most recently, she developed and delivered Bridge Maintenance Courses to bridge maintenance foremen and staff in PennDOT’s twelve Districts. The goal of the course was to provide best practices to maintenance personnel in order to bridge the gap between inspection findings and maintenance needs. As the Bridge inspection Practice Leader for Pennoni Associates her responsibilities include project management and quality management of NBIS bridge and underwater inspection projects, coordination of relevant project requirements with clients, contracts, state and local traffic and transportation departments. She has most recently been responsible for the development of a Bridge Inspection Practice Manual for Pennoni’s more than 50 bridge engineers and inspectors.
