Jim Hanson is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at California Polytechnic, and has been named co-editor-in chief of the Geotechnical and Geological Engineering Journal. Dr. Hanson's fields of interest are geotechnical engineering and geoenvironmental engineering, thermal analysis of landfills, characterization of geomaterials, ground improvement and large-scale testing and field monitoring.
