Meeok Kim is a Principal Engineer of Thornton Tomasetti and joined in 2006. She has 16 years of experience with the geostructural engineering practice and received a Ph.D. in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She serves as a geostructural engineer, specializing in the analysis and design of complex below-grade systems such as deep excavations, unique foundations, composite systems and other structures which behavior relies on the interaction of soils and the structures. She designed numerous types of deep foundation, below-grade structures and shoring systems in areas of varying and challenging soil conditions ranging from very soft clay to decomposed rock.
