Michelle Kam-Biron is a California licensed structural engineer and Senior Director of Education for the American Wood Council (AWC). She has over 20 years of experience managing and designing a wide range of projects using various structural materials as well as California Division of State Architect contract plan review. In addition, Ms. Kam-Biron lectures extensively throughout the nation.

Before joining AWC, she worked for nearly 5 years in the wood industry as the Senior Technical Director - National Lead Mid-rise/Multi-family Construction for WoodWorks. Additionally, she was a Structural Engineering consultant and Executive V.P. of Harris Engineering, in California. She has also authored several articles related to wood construction. Ms. Kam-Biron is a certified Earthquake Disaster Assessment volunteer and a member of the International Code Council. She serves on the NCSEA Basic Wood Education Committee and Continuing Education Committee. She is President of the Structural Engineers Association of Southern California and is the incoming chair ASCE-SEI Wood Education Committee.

Ms. Kam-Biron graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Architectural Engineering (ARCE) and has served as a volunteer on the university's ARCE's Industry Advisory Council.
