Milind V. Khire, after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1995, he has worked as a geoenvironmental consultant for over 6 years. He was a tenured professor at Michigan State University from 2002 to 2014. He is currently a Professor of Civil Engineering at UNC Charlotte. He has published over 100 papers on landfill-related topics and has 3 US Patents on technologies that he developed for landfills and contaminated sites. He is a recipient of the Croes Medal and Exemplary Service awards from ASCE and the Alpha Technological Award from the Engineering Society of Detroit.
