Omid Ghasemi-Fare is an Associate Professor at the J.B. Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville. He has received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Civil and Environmental Engineering respectively, in 2008 and 2010 from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. He got his Ph.D. in the field of Geotechnical Engineering with a Ph.D. minor in Computational Science at the Pennsylvania State University in 2015. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the faculty at the Civil and Environmental Engineering department in August 2015. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. His research experiences are revolved around Energy geotechnics, geothermal energy, thermo-hydro-mechanical characterization of soils, coupled heat and fluid flow in porous media, unsaturated soil mechanics, and heat and fluid flow in porous media. His research has been sponsored by the National Science Foundation, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and NSF EPSCoR at Kentucky.
