Peter Jacke has worked in the geotechnical field since 1984 on a wide variety of projects both in the laboratory and in the field. He has extensive experience with all of the routine and many specialized geotechnical tests including large scale and cyclic triaxial, K0 and constant rate of strain consolidation, and torsional ring shear. He has participated in major infrastructure projects such as dams, landfills, hydroelectric projects, water treatment plants, nuclear power plants, tunnels, pipelines and levees as well as seismic stability evaluations, landslides and construction projects of varying size. He has instructed the Soil Mechanics laboratory at San Jose State University and trained engineers, geologists and others to perform various laboratory and field tests. Between 1984 and 1996 Mr. Jacke was the Laboratory manager and then a project engineer at Earth Sciences Associates, Inc. in Palo Alto, CA. From 2002 to 2017, Mr. Jacke was Vice President and Laboratory Director at Cooper Testing Laboratory in Palo Alto, CA. As owner of Benchmark Geotechnical Labs Mr. Jacke is responsible for the daily operations at all levels. He is heavily involved in the testing processes, QA/QC efforts and training of laboratory personnel. He has worked with numerous clients when specialized or modified test procedures are called for.
