Ryan McClain is a principal at Fehr & Peers in Walnut Creek, California. He has worked in the transportation planning and engineering field for over 15 years, focusing on multi-modal transportation design and planning. Ryan leads Fehr & Peers' companywide Complete Streets Design group and serves as vice chair of the international ITE Complete Streets Council. Ryan works closely with communities and local agencies to identify challenges, develop solutions, and implement improvements to better serve users of all ages and abilities. He has consulted on the planning and design of innovative bicycle facilities throughout the country, including many cities' first separated bikeways and protected intersections. Ryan also serves as an expert on quick-build implementation of complete streets projects, utilizing lower cost materials and construction methods to implement safety and comfort improvements within a shorter timeline.
