S.K. Ghosh is President of S.K. Ghosh Associates Inc., Palatine, Illinois and Aliso Viejo, California. The firm specializes in seismic and building code consulting. S.K. has a Ph.D. in structural engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and was Director, Engineering Services, Codes & Standards, Portland Cement Association, Skokie, Illinois, prior to starting his own consulting practice. He has lectured extensively in the U.S. and abroad, and has authored over 200 research papers and a number of books that are used widely by designers. He is a fellow of ACI, PCI, ASCE, SEI, and the Institution of Engineers (India). He is a long-standing member of the ASCE 7 committee and its Seismic Subcommittee. Currently, he is a member of the Executive Committee of SEI's new Global Activities Division.
