Member advancement form
If your career has advanced since you first joined ASCE, you're probably eligible for advancement to another membership grade.
We encourage all ASCE members to advance their membership grade as their professional careers progress.
Request for grade advancement
You may also use this form if you are uncertain of your eligibility or would like to request a waiver of the criteria. If you reside outside US borders you may need to use this form if your college is not listed in the online application process.
Be sure to include a copy of a current resume/CV showing responsible charge of engineering work.

ASCE automatically upgrades student members to free professional membership within 30 days of their effective graduation date. If your expected graduation date has been extended, you are continuing your studies, OR you would like to opt out of the automatic upgrade, please update your record.
Exceptions:
- If interested in the Fellow grade, please follow the instructions on the Fellow page.
- If you are interested in the Distinguished Member grade, please follow the instructions on the Distinguished Member page.
What happens next
ASCE staff will review the information provided and notify you if any additional information is required. Your application will be reviewed by the Membership Application Review Committee (MARC) at their next monthly meeting.
