ASCE is at an inflection point.

So says Rossana D’Antonio, P.E., G.E., ENV SP, F.ASCE, official nominee for ASCE 2027 president-elect.

“I often describe it as a Renaissance of sorts,” D’Antonio said. “Our members are navigating unprecedented demands – climate resilience, infrastructure modernization, workforce evolution, and a need for greater inclusion across every level of the profession.”

New opportunities across the industry mean new approaches for the organization, and, with the 2026 ASCE election set to open May 1, D’Antonio outlined her vision for the Society in a series of Q&A videos for members (see below).

Additionally, members can learn more about D’Antonio at two “ask me anything” forums, moderated by Society younger member leaders.

D’Antonio serves as the executive director of NV5, a global consulting firm. Before that, she worked 33 years for Los Angeles County Public Works in a variety of roles, including as deputy director of municipal services and emergency management from 2016 to 2023.

She served on the ASCE Board of Direction as an at-large director, 2022-25, and has been active in many other Society activities, from advocacy to sustainability over the years. She has also been a longtime leader in Region 9, California, and her hometown of Los Angeles.

“I want to serve as ASCE president-elect … because this profession has shaped my life in ways that go far beyond projects or job titles,” D’Antonio said. “My career has been shaped by service, resilience, and a belief that leadership must be both technically sound and profoundly human.”

The ASCE election opens May 1 and runs through June 1. ASCE will induct the election winner as the 2027 president-elect this fall at the annual business meeting. They would then assume the role of Society president for 2028.
