This award celebrates early career excellence and innovation in coastal engineering within the COPRI community. It aims to recognize impactful contributions by emerging professionals who advance the field through research or practice. The award reflects COPRI’s commitment to fostering leadership and technical advancement in coastal engineering. The 2026 award presentation will occur at the 2026 International Conference on Coastal Engineering. 

Rules

  1. This recognition may be awarded to an individual who is a member of COPRI at any grade for notable achievements in the area of coastal engineering
  2. At the time of nomination, nominees must be COPRI members in good standing and either under 40 years of age or have worked no more than 12 years since receiving their terminal degree.
  3. No one shall receive the award more than once.
  4. Only one award shall be given each year. 
  5. Selection committee will be made up of 1 COPRI Governing Board member , members of the COPRI Coastal Committee , 1 member of the ICCE Local Organizing Committee
  6. The award recipient will be selected based on the impact of their contributions to coastal engineering
  7. The award will consist of a plaque

To nominate, submit the via the nomination form:

  • A cover letter, signed by the nominator
  • The nominee's CV or biographical information.
  • 2 or 3 letters of recommendation.
