SPONSORED WEBINAR provided by the Alliance for PE Pipe, Core & Main and Modern Polymer Pipe & Extrusions

Register for the fourth and final session in the 2025 series of HDPE webinars, proudly sponsored by the Alliance for PE Pipe.

A municipality's first experience with HDPE often comes through a trenchless installation method. This makes sense, as HDPE is a viscoelastic material boasting a generous allowable bending radius, ruggedness, and durability—all invaluable characteristics for trenchless projects.

This session will provide an overview of HDD, pipe bursting, and sliplining technologies, including the types of equipment and materials involved. We'll present examples of both successful and failed installations, highlighting the most common reasons for failure.

Furthermore, we'll cover key calculations for HDD pipe installation, such as net external loads, average radius of curvature for bore entrance and exit lengths, axial stress along the bore path, allowable tensile load, and maximum pull force during HDD. To top it off, an experienced contractor will share crucial actual construction considerations from their perspective.

Speakers:

  • Peter Dyke, Executive Director at the Alliance for PE Pipe (Moderator)
  • Alan Ambler, P.E., LEED AP, Alliance for PE Pipe and AM Trenchless
  • Jon Schumchyk, Haugland Group
  • Jim Williams, P.E., PMP, Brierley Associates
  • Taylor Holladay, Modern Polymer
  • and other PE Pipe experts will be online ready to answer all of your HDPE quesitons
