is a member of Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), and Seismological Society of America (SSA). He has over 25 years of diversified experience ranging from academic research to the practical procedures of analysis and design. He is also member of several ASCE Technical Committees.
Dr. Shama has accomplished several seismic design and assessment studies of several significant structures that emphasized site specific seismic hazard analysis, ground response analysis and soil-structure interaction of deep large foundations. He recently conducted site specific seismic hazard study and ground motion simulation for sites in Dubai UAE. He is the author of numerous technical papers and has given a number of presentations at distinguished conferences in earthquake engineering. He also taught advanced graduate courses of geotechnical earthquake engineering.
