Donald Lindsay is a Senior Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer with the California Geological Survey, Redding, California. Mr. Lindsay is licensed in California as a Professional Geologist, Certified Engineering Geologist, Professional Civil Engineer, and Geotechnical Engineer. Mr. Lindsay holds both BS and MS degrees in geology and has over 19 years of professional experience.

Mr. Lindsay worked for over 13 years in private consulting where he performed geologic, hydrologic, and geotechnical engineering work with an emphasis on slope stability, foundation design, and earth retaining structures.

Since 2009, Mr. Lindsay has worked in the Forest and Watershed Geology program at the California Geological Survey, where he has developed design and construction standards for low-volume logging roads, has participated in studies evaluating the performance of low-volume roads, and has given multiple presentations on road drainage design and the use of geosynthetics (e.g. geotextiles, geocomposite drains, and geogrids) in the construction and repair of low-volume roads.
