Lauren Gardner, P.E., PhD is transportation asset management consultant with Cambridge Systematics based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Ms. Gardner recently completed her PhD at Vanderbilt University where her research focused on incorporating resilience concepts into asset management practices and developing prioritization strategies that emphasis system resilience. Prior to returning to school, Ms. Gardner worked as a consultant where she spent over four years supporting various federal, state, and local agencies on infrastructure asset management, pavement and materials engineering, and data management and analytics projects. Ms. Gardner is passionate about developing the next generation of transportation professionals and engineers, serving as the former chair of TRB’s Policy and Organization Group’s Young Member Subcommittee and past chair for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Committee of Pre-College Outreach (CPO). She is also a member of TRB’s Standing Committee on Asset, Performance, and Risk Management. Lauren earned her M.S. and B.S. from Georgia Tech.
