The Engineering Research Visioning Alliance has named Jennifer Carinci as its inaugural full-time executive director.

Carinci comes to ERVA from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, where she was program director for STEM education research.

ERVA was launched by the National Science Foundation in April to provide the engineering community with a process for identifying bold and societally impactful engineering research directions that will place the U.S. in a leading position to realize a better future for all. It is an engaged, inclusive, multilayered partnership, providing a truly diverse array of voices with the opportunity to impact national research priorities.

ASCE serves as an ERVA affiliate partner and will be represented by Society President Jean-Louis Briaud, Ph.D., P.E., D.GE, Dist.M.ASCE,

Carinci will operationalize ERVA’s strategic plan and lead the ERVA staff to execute ERVA’s visioning events and crowdsourcing activities, including the ERVA Community Survey, which is currently in the field and open to engineers across the spectrum to offer ideas for future exploration and ideation.
