ASCE has honored the Hawaii Section Younger Member Forum with the 2022 Younger Member Group Award for Small Groups and the Los Angeles Younger Member Forum with the 2022 Younger Member Group Award for Large Groups for their outstanding professional, technical, social, outreach, and community service activities.

The Hawaii Section YMF has been active in the community through its meetings, STEM outreach events, and community service events. This past year has proved challenging to continually navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Hawaii Section YMF has remained flexible and able to engage members virtually, through a Virtual Networking Event and various creative and fun virtual meetings, social events, and professional presentations. The group brings a reinvigorating energy, camaraderie, and an uplifting spirit to the engineering community.

The ASCE Los Angeles Younger Member Forum successfully hosted nearly 70 events, cohosted over a dozen events, were awarded nearly 20 group and individual awards, fundraised over a thousand dollars for charities, and awarded tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships. They successfully transformed our annual large-scale in-person events to be conducted completely virtually for the first time ever, such as our Student Night and Job Fair and Engineers Week events, which hosted 150 university students and 700 K-12th grade students, respectively.

The Younger Member Group Award recognizes the most outstanding Younger Member Groups of the previous year.
