Tonya Mellen, P.E., F.ASCE, a transportation design engineer and project manager for 35 years and owner of Mellen Consulting, has been named a fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.
Mellen joined ASCE as a student at Georgia Tech in 1986. Being a member since then, she has also been involved in other engineering groups working with the FES K-12 Committee, legislative forum, and various charity events. She has owned her firm for 15 years.
In 2015, she became the chair of the Florida Section Government Relations Committee, which led to her becoming chair of the 2016 Florida Report Card Update. She is an advocacy captain and has attended Society Washington Fly-In for more than 20 years. In 2019, she became involved in the East Central Branch as treasurer and then served as vice president, president-elect, president, and past president through 2024.
Mellen currently serves as the Florida Section vice president III.
