Wigger

Michael S. Wigger, P.E., BC.GE, F.ASCE, senior principal engineer and vice president at Terracon, has been named a fellow by the ASCE Board of Direction.

Wigger’s practice, since 2022, has been within Terracon’s Alternate Delivery Division. He enjoys leading tender and final design-phase services on large-scale alternate delivery projects. In this role, he participated in development of Terracon’s program manual to standardize the practice for alternate delivery at the firm. He is responsible for providing executive oversight of professional personnel and managing special and complex alternate delivery projects, such as the SR 400 Express Lanes project in Georgia, which is starting construction this year.

Prior to Wigger’s role in alternate delivery, he led the Indianapolis geotechnical engineering team for over 10 years on projects primarily in Indiana but also in the surrounding states. Before merging with Terracon in 2017, he was a principal engineer and an owner of Earth Exploration Inc., a firm with geotechnical engineering roots in Indianapolis since 1990.

While building his practice, Wigger has served in all of the director and executive roles for the Metropolitan Indianapolis Branch of ASCE. He is currently on the Board of Directors for ACEC Indiana and has served on its various committees in a leadership role. In July 2026, he will begin serving a four-year commitment on ACEC Indiana’s executive board.

Wigger received his BSCE from Purdue University in 1999 and earned his MSCE with a geotechnical emphasis from Purdue the following year.
