Vision statement
Kensey currently serves as the Engineering Section Manager for highways in HNTB’s Oklahoma City office. His 22+ year career with HNTB started in their Overland Park, KS office, which is where a coworker invited him to tag along to a Kansas City Section younger member group meeting. That fateful meeting led him to serve in numerous leadership roles within the Section, including President. He has previously been honored as the Kansas City Section Engineer of the Year, and he remained active in the Section prior to relocating to Oklahoma and becoming involved with the Oklahoma Section. He has served two terms as a Region 6 Governor, coinciding with the student conference realignment to Region boundaries and the return of in-person competitions. Kensey was born in Cape Girardeau, MO where his father served as City Engineer. Kensey is a proud Miner, earning his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri S&T (known as the University of Missouri-Rolla at the time). Kensey and Sara have been married for 22 years and have two children and two dogs.
