Young Government Civil Engineer of the Year

Application deadline: February 1
Presented to a young civil engineer who has demonstrated leadership and made significant contributions to public service engineering.

Outstanding Younger Member Group Digital Outreach

Application deadline: February 1
The purpose of the Younger Member Group Digital Outreach Award is to promote and encourage Younger Member Groups to host a website and utilize social media to share information and engage with their members.

Younger Member Employer Recognition Award

Application deadline: August 30
Awarded to those employers that encourage their young engineers to get involved in ASCE activities.

Younger Member Council Awards

General Award Criteria

• Nominees for the individual awards must be current ASCE members. The nominees should be active in their Section or Branch Younger
• Member Group or active in Section activities in those Sections or Branches that have yet to establish a Younger Member Group. Selection of the award winners will be based primarily upon their accomplishments.
• The time span considered for the award activity during the past ASCE Fiscal Year (October 1 to September 30).
• Younger Members nominated for multiple awards will be considered for the most prestigious award for which they are nominated.
• Active members of the Committee on Younger Members shall not be eligible for awards.
• Awards will be presented at the Awards Banquet during the Younger Member Council Annual Meeting.

   Note: One (1) Nomination Form is required per applicant per award category. Some award categories are only accepted in certain Regions. Complete nominations must be submitted by December 8th at 5:00 pm (EST). Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Outstanding Young Civil Engineer in the Private Sector

Awarded to a Younger Member who has demonstrated leadership potential in private sector civil engineering.

Outstanding Young Civil Engineer in the Public Sector

(All Regions)
Awarded to a Younger Member who has demonstrated leadership potential in public sector civil engineering.

Outstanding Younger Member Group Project

(All Regions)
Awarded for a Younger Member Group project that had a favorable and measurable impact on the community.

Outstanding Younger Member in Community Activities

(All Regions)
Awarded to a Younger Member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and participation in community service.

Peers Group Award

(Eastern Region only)
Awarded to an Outstanding Younger Member Group, as judged by all Younger Member Groups in the Eastern Region

Outstanding Younger Member in Government Relations

(Eastern Region only)
Awarded to a Younger Member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and participation in Government Relations.

Outstanding Practitioner Advisor

(Eastern and Central Regions)
Awarded to a Younger Member who has demonstrated outstanding support for a Student Chapter.

Outstanding Support of a Student Chapter

(Western Region only)
Awarded to a Younger Member Group that has demonstrated outstanding support for one or more Student Chapters.

Outstanding Younger Member in ASCE Activities

(Western Region only)
Awarded to a Younger Member who has demonstrated leadership in ASCE activities.

Outstanding Younger Member or Younger Member Group JEDI Initiative

(All Regions)
Awarded to a Younger Member or Younger Member Group who has demonstrated exemplary efforts to promote Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) initiatives in the profession.
