SPONSORED WEBINAR provided by the Alliance for PE Pipe, Core & Main, and WL Plastics
In this fourth and final session of a four-part HDPE webinar series, we will address underground installation of HDPE, including traditional open cut construction and trenchless installations. This webinar will include discussions on the potential for movement of HDPE due to thermal and Poisson’s effects and the pipe / soil interaction that often stops the movement of the HDPE.
This webinar will include:
- Typical considerations of working with HDPE for underground installations, including traditional open cut construction and trenchless installations.
- Discussions on the potential effects of thermal changes and Poisson’s effect to the HDPE and mechanisms available to restrain the pipe from movement will be presented.
- Calculations for the external forces exerted on buried HDPE pipes will be briefly presented including safe installation design windows.
