The goal of this competition is to provide civil engineering students an opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience and leadership skills by working with concrete mix designs and project management.
ASCE Sustainable Solutions Competition

This competition challenges students to develop a stronger understanding of sustainability and learn to incorporate sustainable solutions into everyday problems that engineers incur. Students are encouraged to be creative in their solutions and use all resources available. This year’s theme is a parks and recreation challenge.

Using the ASCE Future World Vision as the contest’s technical base, students are unconstrained in their development of innovations for the built environment. Take this challenge and learn how to develop an innovation from a great idea into a product that delivers a solution for now as far into the future as 2070.
This contest will be piloted at the following five student conferences:
Carolinas, North Central, Rocky Mountain, Southeast, and Texas-Mexico Student
Conferences.

This competition provides a construction engineering experience for civil engineering students through a challenge project. Team tasks include developing a schedule, estimate, and risk management documents.
This competition will be piloted at three student conferences, including the Great Lakes Student Conference, Metropolitan Student Conference, and the Ohio Valley Student Conference. The remaining student conference location to be announced soon!

The competition, sponsored by the American Wood Council (AWC), APA – The Engineered Wood Association (APA), and Simpson Strong-Tie, and in partnership with ASCE, involves the sustainable design and virtual building of a timber structure.
This competition will be piloted at four student conferences: Mid-Continent, New England, Pacific Northwest, and Pacific Southwest.
