Republic of Colombia Section (1957)

The Republic of Colombia Section was established in 1957.

The purpose of ASCE sections is to provide local engagement for ASCE members through meetings, guest speakers, networking, professional development at all career stages, technical content, event notices and resource information, support to ASCE Student Members and their transition to professional membership. Successful operation under the leadership of Section Officers relies on the efforts and engagement in activities by all Section members.

Younger Member Leadership Symposium (YMLS)

Colombia Section Secretary, David Nunez, Aff.M.ASCE, attended the ASCE Younger Member Leadership Symposium (YMLS) that was held at ASCE headquarters in Reston, Virginia from August 18-20, 2023. YMLS was hosted by the Committee on Younger Members and gathered nearly 100 young engineers from around the world to compare notes and learn from other younger members about how to take the next steps in their careers into leadership roles. Travel was funded by the Board approved 2023 budget for R10 younger members to attend YM programs and Section and Branch workshops.
