Purpose and Background

These presentations were recorded at the 2021 GI Web Conference.

The primary objective of the webinar is to present newly developed and proposed methods applied to deep foundations design and load testing. The information presented by the speakers would contribute to the deep foundation industry and encourages the use of newly developed and proposed methods.

Benefits and Learning Outcomes

At the end of the webinar the audience will be able to describe the impact of geotechnical engineering on Design Build Projects, perform a data reduction on strain gage data, better interpret the deep foundations capacities in both soils and intermediate geomaterials.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Interpret load test data
  • Explain the Geotechnical Engineering role in design Build Projects
  • Explain the NYU Deep Foundation design approach
  • Explain LRFD applied to the Driven piles in Intermediate Geomaterias

Assessment of Learning Outcomes

Achievement of the learning outcomes will be assessed through?a?short post-test (true-false, multiple choice and fill in the blank?questions).

Who Should Attend

Foundation designers, Geotechnical Engineers, Contractors, Consultants, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Builders, Construction

Outline

  • Geotechnical Design and Construction on Design Build Projects
  • The NYU Criterion for Interpreting the Capacity of Piles and Drilled Foundations
  • The Incremental Rigidity Method – More-Direct Conversion of Strains to Internal Forces in a Static Loading Test
  • A Recent Development on Driven Piles in Intermediate Geomaterials

How to Earn your CEUs/PDHs

To receive your certificate of completion, you will need to complete a short on-line post-test and receive a passing score of 70% or higher within 365 days of purchasing the course.

How do I convert CEUs to PDHs?

1.0 CEU = 10 PDHs [Example: 0.1 CEU = 1 PDH]
