Costa Rica Section (2010)


The Costa Rica Section was formed in 2010, and meets twice a year.

The purpose of ASCE sections is to provide local engagement for ASCE members through meetings, guest speakers, networking, professional development at all career stages, technical content, event notices and resource information, support to ASCE Student Members and their transition to professional membership. Successful operation under the leadership of Section Officers relies on the efforts and engagement in activities by all Section members

Leadership Visit and Regional Engagement

In July 2026 R10 Governor Olga Marin met with Section leadership, young professionals, and student members, and also attended UPADI 2026 Congress and General Assembly in San José. Her visit highlighted the Section's strong partnership with the CFIA, its active leadership, and commitment to developing the next generation of civil engineers. The Congress provided valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships with engineering organizations across the Americas, exchange knowledge on sustainability, resilience, and emerging technologies, and reinforce collaboration among engineering professionals. Together, these engagements demonstrated the importance of international cooperation in advancing the engineering profession and supporting ASCE's continued growth throughout Latin America.
