Through the efforts of a Task Force of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a Memorandum of Understanding between the organizations was signed on February 1, 2023. The aim of the MOU is to support integrating climate information into the work of civil engineers related to design, operation, and construction of infrastructure. The MOU was signed at a summit hosted at ASCE Headquarters in 2023.
Since that time, the ASCE-NOAA Task Force has been fulfilling the MOU’s commitments by hosting climate related presentations, roundtable discussions and in July 2024 another summit. The Task Force is now pleased to share their work with you via an ASCE-NOAA Newsletter that summarizes the presentations from prior meetings, and previews work planned for upcoming meetings. The newsletter’s content shares with you the ASCE-NOAA Task Force's vision, reports, and other content that may be beneficial to you as you incorporate climate science into civil engineering practice.
