Purpose and Background
This session will focus on the organizational changes and technical updates to Chapter 8 in ASCE 41-23.? There were significant organizational revisions with the intent of making the entire chapter more user friendly.? The technical updates were focused on the evaluation and retrofit of shallow foundations.? The session will summarize the evaluation process for shallow foundations in ASCE 41-23, including several simplified example problems illustrating the various procedures.
