Happy Holidays
The holidays are a time to celebrate with friends and family as well as take stock of the past year. I hope all of you find time to celebrate one of the season's holidays, spend time with loved ones and/or take time to relax and recharge.
During this hectic season, I hope that you all take a moment and reflect on how much we have accomplished this past year - both individually as well as our larger Transportation & Development Institute work. Through truly historic and unprecedented times we continue creating and maintaining resilient, world-class multimodal transportation systems. I am honored to be part of that work and to be leading our T&DI efforts.
I also want to acknowledge those among us and our colleagues who will be working holiday shifts this season to keep our international transportation system moving. This means sacrificing time with one's own family to help others get to their holiday destinations safely, and that service is recognized and very much appreciated.
This time of year is also the perfect time to review what you're looking forward to in the coming year, including upcoming events as well as new achievements. At my "day job" at the Washington State Department of Transportation I've shared what I'm looking forward to with my staff to help ensure we're all working toward the same goals and accomplishments. Consider doing something similar on your own or with your team or organization if it would help you move into 2023 on a sounder footing.
However you spend the next few weeks, please know you have my thanks and gratitude for all that you do - as well as our ongoing efforts. I wish you and your loved ones a very happy holiday season.
