Like many I have been traveling a bit this summer. My travels have included a wide range of transportation modes including walking, diving, flying, transit and automated people movers, and rail, both in the United States and abroad. In all cases, I was safely and comfortably conveyed to my destinations. Many thanks to all who develop, design, construct, operate and maintain our extraordinary transportation systems. Members of T&DI are fortunate to work in our chosen profession where we connect people, facilitate the movement of goods and improve communities. I recognize that there remains room for improvement, but once in a while I believe it is appropriate to stop and consider how far we have come.
