Under the leadership of Vice President Diniece Mendes, work continues on the new T&DI Strategic Plan. The plan is being updated to implement the ideals promulgated in ASCE's Strategic Plan. The ASCE Plan includes the following strategic shifts:
- Innovate. Define and drive creative development and renewal of future-ready infrastructure.
- Advocate. Promote and facilitate civil engineering leadership in developing equitable solutions to global challenges.
- Inspire. Energize and cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and engaged civil engineering community.
- Stimulate. Accelerate development and adoption of emerging technologies, analytics, and systems thinking.
- Magnify. Amplify our collective impact through a vibrant, engaged, and growing membership.
- Deliver. Effectively manage our resources to provide exceptional value to members.
The T&DI Board met in June to discuss the Institute’s Strategic Objectives and will be meeting with the Council Chairs and Technical Committee Chairs in early August to decide short and medium term initiatives.
In closing, I echo 2025 President Feniosky Peña-Mora and Director Tom Smith in sending my condolences and support to those impacted by the devastating flooding in South-Central Texas.
Respectfully,
Scott Murrell, P.E., M.ASCE
