Dr. Zollinger devoted more than three decades to teaching, research, and the advancement of pavement engineering. A professor of civil engineering at Texas A&M University and research engineer with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, his work focused on concrete pavement performance, rehabilitation, behavior, and design. He was widely recognized for his expertise in concrete pavements and contributed throughout his career to advancing pavement engineering practice.
His professional service extended across the pavement community. In addition to his involvement with ASCE and T&DI, Dr. Zollinger was a past president of the International Society for Concrete Pavements and was named an ISCP Honorary Member in 2014. Colleagues remember him not only for his technical expertise and dedication to teaching and research, but also for the generosity and support he showed to students and fellow professionals throughout his career.
