As my term as T&DI President comes to a close on September 30, I find myself reflecting on what has been a remarkable year. We brought all three T&DI conferences together for the first time in Detroit, advanced the conversation on AI in civil engineering from T&DI's perspective, and laid the foundation for expanding partnerships with allied organizations. It has been a year of collaboration, innovation, and meaningful progress, and it has been an absolute honor to lead this institute through it.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Navneet Garg, Scott Murrell, and Alyssa Ryan for their outstanding leadership on the T&DI Board. Your commitment, active participation, and your partnership were greatly appreciated. I am equally excited to welcome the incoming board under the leadership of Jianming, Eileen Velez Vega, Stanley Young. With T&DI’s strategic plan in motion, and the momentum heading into ASCE2027, I have every confidence in where T&DI is headed.
To our members, thank you. Your engagement, your energy, and your dedication to this profession are what make T&DI what it is. It has been a privilege to represent you.
And lastly, to Amer and Melissa, thank you for being the engine behind T&DI and being a strong thread that connects all of us!
I leave this role grateful, inspired, and excited for what comes next. Leading this community, alongside such dedicated and talented people, has reminded me why this work matters not just for ASCE, the broader profession and the traveling public! And it’s why T&DI is such a special place.
