The UESI Surveying Competition Final is less than one month away!
The 2025 ASCE Civil Engineering Student Championships will be held at the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo from June 27 to June 29.
Every year, members of ASCE student chapters from around the world gather at designated universities for the Student Symposia Competitions. These events feature a range of technical and leadership challenges, allowing students to demonstrate practical skills across various civil engineering disciplines while showcasing teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
The ASCE UESI Student Surveying Competition is hosted annually, in conjunction with other regional competitions held at the Symposia. Student teams complete multiple tasks using standard field and office surveying equipment and procedures to solve problems commonly encountered in industry. This year's competition included a topographic mapping project with a presentation, along with several field exercises.
Student participants often describe the Symposia as a highlight of their academic journey, a spirited mix of competition, camaraderie, and connection. Months of preparation and perseverance culminate in a three-day event filled with learning, growth, and collaboration among emerging civil engineers.
At the end of the day, only one university team can be crowned the winner of the Surveying Competition Finals.
