Do you know a project that exemplifies innovation, design excellence, and meaningful impact within coastal, ocean, port, harbor, or river engineering? The COPRI - Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute is now welcoming nominations for the Project Excellence Award - recognizing outstanding achievements in design, analytical techniques, technology use, adaptive reuse, and environmentally mindful solutions.
- Nomination Deadline: April 1, 2026
- Who Can Apply: Any project meeting COPRI’s criteria, completed within the last three years, and accompanied by a letter of recommendation.
- How to Submit: Email your application and materials to the COPRI Project Excellence Committee at [email protected].

In memoriam: William Pratt Stewart

COPRI is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of long-time member and contributor William Pratt Stewart.
William was a remarkable leader and influential force in the civil, structural, and offshore engineering community. He founded and served as President of Stewart Technology Associates and dedicated a decade as Chair of the COPRI Marine Renewable Energy Committee.
His service to ASCE and COPRI was significant and enduring - he was a COPRI Board Member from 2014–2019, served as President in 2017, and contributed as a member of the ACOPNE Board of Trustees in 2016.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who were impacted by his leadership and generosity.
