Welcome Lehigh University COPRI Student Chapter!
We are excited to announce the formation of the Lehigh University COPRI Student Chapter, a new home for graduate students passionate about coastal, ocean, port, river, and water resources engineering.
The chapter was created to connect students who are tackling some of today’s most pressing water-related challenges - from coastal resilience and water infrastructure to climate adaptation and environmental stewardship. Through collaboration, networking, and professional development, the chapter aims to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the field.
Chapter Leadership:
- Claudia Reis, Ph.D., P.E. – Faculty Advisor
- Nasala Dongol, S.M.ASCE – President
- Jiaxing Zhou, S.M.ASCE – Vice President
The chapter’s mission is to foster a vibrant community where students can share research, exchange ideas, build professional connections, and engage with real-world water challenges. Planned activities include:
- Guest speaker presentations from industry, academia, and government leaders
- Site visits to ports, waterways, and critical water infrastructure projects
- Research roundtables and peer-learning opportunities
- Participation in COPRI specialty conferences and professional events
- Undergraduate mentorship and outreach initiatives
- Community engagement focused on the Lehigh and Delaware River regions
- Social and networking events that strengthen student connections
More than just an organization, the Lehigh University COPRI Student Chapter is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where students can grow technically, professionally, and personally while making meaningful contributions to the water resources community.
Please join us in congratulating the chapter's inaugural leadership team and welcoming Lehigh University to the growing COPRI Student Chapter network!
