Diniece Mendes 2025
Fellow T&DI Members,

Human ingenuity is at the heart of everything we do, and this month gave us a powerful reminder of that truth.

The Artemis II mission completed its historic 10-day journey around the Moon, and the world celebrated the safe return of the astronauts. This milestone reflects what is possible when dedicated people work together toward a mission greater than themselves. It also calls to mind the legacy of Katherine Johnson and so many more, whose foundational work in orbital mechanics and equations continue to guide missions to this day.

That same spirit of ingenuity is alive and well here in T&DI. Across our technical committees, creative ideas and bold initiatives are taking shape and advancing in alignment with the T&DI strategic plan. The work happening at the committee level is a direct reflection of our members showing up, contributing their expertise, and moving this organization forward. The Board is deeply grateful for your passion and commitment.

Last month, the Board took several important steps to continue institute leadership over the next term., voting to approve the FY27 Budget and the Nominating Committee’s recommendations for the FY27 two-year and four-year appointed positions. We are pleased by both the quality and quantity of applications received and encourage members to continue reaching for leadership opportunities within T&DI. Your contributions matter, and there is a place for you at the table.

I continue to be inspired by this community and look forward to all that lies ahead! If you haven’t registered for T&DI 2026 conferences yet, please do! We’d love to see you there!

Cheers,
