Younger Member Committee
Purpose:
To promote the progress of research and development in fluid mechanics and serve the engineering profession by solving technical problems of societal and economic impacts such as wind engineering, computational fluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, environmental fluid mechanics, sediment transport, soil erodibility, river mechanics, multiphase flow, air-water gas exchange, turbulent transport and mixing, jets and plumes, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, atmospheric sciences, etc.

MEET THE CHAIR
Alyssa Ryan, Ph.D., EIT, A.M.ASCE
Dr. Alyssa Ryan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering & Mechanics and Assistant Director of the Center for Applied Transportation Sciences within the College of Engineering at the University of Arizona. Her research addresses the safety, economic, and equity challenges faced in transportation. She currently serves as the Communications Coordinator for the Women and Gender in Transportation TRB Standing Committee and the Chair of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Equity Case Studies Subcommittee. In 2022, Dr. Ryan was recognized as an ITE Young Leader to Follow. Her research on gender equity, safety, and human factors has been disseminated through 24 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings.
