Purpose and Background

This is the final webinar in the three-part series on ASCE 24-24. The purpose of this webinar is to provide practical, applicable takeaways that help clarify how the standard is implemented in real projects. The webinar is organized around 2-3 detailed examples that demonstrate key concepts and decision-making processes, including a step-by-step approach to determining the required elevation for a project and when dry floodproofing may be an appropriate solution. The webinar will provide a before-and-after comparison between previous requirements and ASCE 24-24 through before-and-after comparisons, and address common mistakes, misconceptions, and frequent misinterpretations of the standard. Finally, this webinar will highlight areas where engineers are most likely to be challenged in review, giving insight as to where additional information may be needed to support project approval.
