Fisheries Engineering and Science Committee
Purpose:
The primary purpose of establishing a Fisheries Engineering Committee is to create a professional ‘home’ for fisheries engineers and scientists within the American Society of Civil Engineers-Environmental and Water Resources Institute (ASCE-EWRI). Fisheries Engineering is a broad field that includes, but is not limited to, work and research in fish passage, fish screening, hydropower technology, habitat protection and restoration, fishing gear and bycatch reduction, and hatchery and aquaculture technology. This Committee will build upon the work of the Ad Hoc Committee on Fish Passage and will continue to foster communication and work on projects of common interest with the American Fisheries Society (AFS) Bioengineering Section.
