Wetlands Hydrology Technical Committee

Purpose:

Many engineering projects have impacts that affect the hydrology and water quality of wetlands.  Engineers must respond to these impacts either through wetland mitigation or through a design process that incorporates the wetlands into the overall project. In some cases, mitigation itself becomes an engineering design problem, as wetlands are created or restored.  The purpose of this committee is to examine the engineering issues involved in wetland protection, restoration, and creation.  Through task committee products, the committee shall provide guidance on issues such as the uses of wetlands in watershed management, hydrologic and water quality modeling of wetlands, and design of wetland hydraulic control structures.
