To address issues of sustainability as they relate to the practice of Structural Engineering.
Prestandard for Assessing the Embodied Carbon of Structural Systems for Buildings
Prestandard for Assessing the Embodied Carbon of Structural Systems for Buildings provides a recommended scope and calculation methodology for assessing the embodied carbon emissions of structural systems, defining how materials should be quantified, how embodied carbon should be calculated and report, and rules of comparison for structural systems based on embodied carbon. This prestandard aims to establish a standard practice for assessing embodied carbon of structural systems and making comparisons between structural systems, which supports the efforts of the SE 2050 Commitment Program: 2023 Data Analysis and Findings Report (SE 2050).
