The ASCE/SEI Connecticut Chapter hosted its 3rd Structural Engineering Student Career Forum on February 12, 2026, at Central Connecticut State University. Support from the SEI Futures Fund enabled SEI CT to continue expanding this signature outreach program and strengthen the pipeline between students and the structural engineering profession. The forum brought together employers and panelists from building structures, transportation infrastructure, the energy sector, public agencies, and firms of varying sizes. Students engaged in employer presentations, a candid career panel, and dedicated networking sessions that encouraged meaningful one on one conversations with practicing engineers.
More than 30 students from five Connecticut universities attended, alongside about 25 industry professionals and SEI CT board members. Panelists from the Connecticut DOT, Moore Engineering, SLR Consulting, and Stantec offered students a broad look at career pathways and professional growth within structural engineering. Limiting participation to ASCE Student Members helped reinforce early engagement and support a strong student to professional pipeline within ASCE and SEI. Backed by the Futures Fund, the forum continues to play a vital role in preparing and inspiring the next generation of structural engineers.
