From inspiring keynote moments to energetic networking and deep technical discussions, Structures Congress 2025 was truly one to cheer about. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us—your presence and enthusiasm made this year’s Congress unforgettable.
Over the course of three incredible days, the energy throughout the event was electric. Attendees packed technical sessions, filled the exhibit hall with great conversations, and enjoyed some well-earned fun in the ASCE Fun Zone. But what truly stood out were the faces—from students and emerging professionals to long-time leaders in structural engineering—each one eager to learn, connect, and contribute to the future of our profession.
Defining moments of this year’s Congress were the keynotes. Examining The Future of Design, Marc Hoit, Don Davies, Dave Bennink, and Nancy Novak inspired with can-do attitudes about sustainable structural engineering design. The awe-inspiring presentation from Glenn Bell, Judith Mitrani-Riser, and Jim Harris describing the NIST Investigation of the Partial Collapse of Champlain Towers South was rated “best presentation ever seen” by many in attendance. And finally, the address by esteemed sociologist Dr. Lori Peek was both urgent and inspiring: to truly protect communities from the devastating impacts of disasters, structural engineers and social scientists must bridge their disciplines. With powerful stories from post-disaster fieldwork and large-scale research collaborations, Dr. Peek challenged us to think beyond calculations and codes—to see the people behind the structures, and the lives we can help safeguard through more holistic, human-centered design.
Structures Congress continues to be the place where innovation, community, and purpose come together. Thank you for bringing your energy, insights, and curiosity to Phoenix. We can’t wait to see where the conversations we started this year will lead—and we will count on seeing you at Structures Congress 2026 in Boston!
