St. Louis Chapter was involved in sponsoring Annual Mid-American Environmental Engineering Conference

ASCE-EWRI St. Louis Chapter is proud to partner with the local universities and sponsor the Annual Mid-American Environmental Engineering Conference (MAEEC 2025). The conference was hosted on October 11, 2025, at the Washington University in St. Louis. More than fifty students and advisors from Washington University in St. Louis, University of Missouri - Columbia, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Saint Louis University attended the event.
MAEEC 2025 included the following:
- A keynote presentation from Dr. David Sedlak, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at University of California-Berkeley.
- Sixteen student research oral presentations.
- More than twenty poster presentations.
- ASCE-EWRI St. Louis Chapter overview from Chair Jiaman Xu, PE, ENV SP, PMP, and Secretary/ Treasurer Rohan Benjankar, PhD
ASCE-EWRI St. Louis Chapter presented awards to two best poster presentations and two best oral presentations at the end of the conference. Honghyun Kim (Washington University in St. Louis) and Elmira Ramazanova (Washington University in St. Louis) were selected for best poster presentations. For oral presentations, Xicheng He (Washington University in St. Louis) and Tong Zhou (Missouri University of Science and Technology) were selected for the awards.
